Marian Farquhar
Marian Farquhar, 89, of Washington passed away Friday, November 10, 2006 at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington following a decline in health. Marian was born July 29, 1917 at the home of her parents George and Jennie (Wylie) Farquhar near College Springs in Page County, Iowa. Marian graduated from Amity High School in College Springs in 1935 and proceeded to Tarkio College in Tarkio, Missouri.

Allen Patterson Atkinson, 84, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Washington, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006 in his residence in Cedar Rapids following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17 in the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Bob Voels officiating. Interment with military honors conducted by American Legion Post No. 29 will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery.

Francis A. Halda, the son of Frank and Ida (Jedinsky) Halda, was born March 6, 1915 in Cedar Rapids. He attended schools in Cedar Rapids graduating from Washington High School in 1933 and from Coe College in 1938.
