Leo C. Schmitz, died Jan. 31, 2006, at Mercy Living Plus facility in Oel Mr. Schmitz was born Jan. 20, 1920 in Festina, Iowa to Bernard and Elizabeth (Lechtenberg) Schmitz. On Nov. 12, 1941 he was married to Dorothy Huber. She preceded him in death in 1992. Mr. Schmitz married Vonna Taylor on August 5, 1995, in West Union. Leo was retired from farming and was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church.
