Samuel John Curnow, 75, of Postville, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005 at his home.      Funeral arrangements are pending at Schutte Funeral Home in Postville.      Curnow attended Iowa Wesleyan College for one year in 1948-49 and also attended the University of Iowa.      He was a retired Lt. Col. in the U.S. Army.

Sylvia Eskenazi, born in Warsaw Poland in 1906 and long time resident of Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 14, 2005.             A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 18th at 1 p.m., at Beth Shalom Synogogue, 308 South B St.      In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Congregation Beth Shalom, Tzedakah Fund, c/o 200 W. LONE TREE - William John Koedam, 76, of Midway, Ark., formerly of northwest Iowa, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005, at his son's home in Lone Tree.      Memorial services were held this morning. LaToska Leona Bennett, 93, of Winfield, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005 at the Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield.      The funeral service will be Monday, Dec. 19, at 10:30 a.m. at Honts Funeral Home in Winfield, with Mark Jagnow officiating. Erma Jacobson Wharton, 81, of El Camp, Texas, and formerly of Lockridge, died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, in El Campo.      Mrs. Wharton graduated from Lockridge High School. She married Grant Wharton Jr. He died in March 2002.      Survivors include three children, Diane, Katherine and Thomas; and five grandchildren.
