Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 29, at Beatty Funeral Home, in Washington, with the Rev. Randy Bobzien officiating. Burial will be in North Hill Cemetery, north of Wayland. Max Burchard
Max Burchard, 80, of Macomb, Ill., died December 14, 2005. A reception honoring Dr. Burchard will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb. Dr. Burchard served in the Naval Airforce during WWII, after which he pursued an academic career in sociology. For 22 years Dr. Burchard served as professor of Sociology at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant.
