Huffer, 80, of Ames, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.      Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 29, at Beatty Funeral Home, in Washington, with the Rev. Randy Bobzien officiating. Burial will be in North Hill Cemetery, north of Wayland. Max Burchard, 80, of Macomb, Ill., died December 14, 2005.      A reception honoring Dr. Burchard will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb.      Dr. Burchard served in the Naval Airforce during WWII, after which he pursued an academic career in sociology.      For 22 years Dr. Burchard served as professor of Sociology at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant.

Kathryn W. McCosh, 94, of Winfield, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at the Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield.      The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Dec 28, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Winfield United Methodist Church, with Rev. Laura Ann Calvert, 56, formerly of Fairfield, died from cancer Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, in Purcell, Okla.      A memorial service was Dec. 4 in Fairfield.
