KALONA-Leona Bare Mandel, 82, of Kalona, died Friday, March 21, 2003, following a lengthy illness.      Funeral services were held this morning. A memorial has been established for Johnson County Hospice.

David. W. Day, 77, of Coralville, died Thursday, March 20, 2003, following a brief illness.      Funeral services were Sunday. Burial was today in Walcott Cemetery with military rites accorded by the Walcott American Legion. IOWA CITY-Robert Michael Vayan, infant, died Friday, March 21, 2003, at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25 at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Dennis Martin officiating. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery in Wayland. Visitation began today and family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.

Martha Florence Lane, 68, of Burlington, died at 6:25 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2003, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.      There was a memorial visitation on March 23 at Lunning Chapel in Burlington. A memorial has been established in lieu of flowers. The deceased deeded her body to science at the University of Iowa.

MOLINE-John W. Hotle, 74, of Moline, died Friday, March 21, 2003, at Genesis East Medical Center in Davenport.      Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 25 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Esterdahl Mortuary in Moline. Shirley Ann Aplara, 72, of Lockridge, died at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2003, at her home in Lockridge.      There are no services being planned at this time. The body was cremated.
