Gerald P. "Red" Holtkamp, 52, of Mt. Sterling, formerly of Houghton, died at 2:33 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.      The memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 23 at St. John's Catholic Church in Houghton, with Father Dennis Hoffman officiating. DAVENPORT-Loran "Pee Wee" Day, 78, of Davenport, formerly of Washington, died Friday, May 9, 2003, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus in Davenport.      Memorial services have been held. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association, Newcomb Presbyterian Church of Davenport, or Ridgecrest Koning Charitable Fund.

BRIGHTON-Frank M. Smith, 82, formerly of Germanville, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at River Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Muscatine.      Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Stockport United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mike Renken officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery, northeast of Stockport. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.

WELLMAN-Nickolas Charles Peck, 22, of Iowa City, and formerly of Wellman, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, in his home, from complications of osteosarcoma.      A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, May 23, at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in North English, with the Rev. DAVENPORT-Pamela Sue Knaack, 52, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Washington, died Monday, May 19, 2003, at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.      Funeral services will be Thursday, May 22, at 11:30 a.m. at Runge Mortuary Chapel in Davenport. Burial will be in Walcott Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services, at the mortuary. A general memorial has been established.

Phyllis Belle Reif, 93, of Washington, died Monday, May 19, 2003, at United Presbyterian Home, following a lengthy illness.      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Jim Beranek officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home, with family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

WELLMAN-Cedric E. Ulin, 82, of Wellman, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, in Iowa City, following a lengthy illness.      Graveside memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 23, at Wellman Cemetery, with the Rev. Mike Orthel officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, at Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. Memorials may be directed to the Wellman Fire Department and the Wellman Ambulance.

George Wilbur Ralph Riemann, 96, of Mediapolis, died Friday, May 16, 2003, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.      The funeral service was at 10 a.m. this morning at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis, with the Rev. John Gaulke officiating. Burial was in the Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established to the Mediapolis Community Ambulance Service.

KALONA-Irene F.
