Shashikant "Pat" D. Patel, 63, of Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, Jan. 16. 2003 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City of complication resulting from diabetes.      A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Ron McMenamin officiating. No visitation has been scheduled, and a memorial has been established to the American Diabetes Association.

Charles H. Goettsche, 70, of Oklahoma City, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003 in Oklahoma City.      The funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 15 at the S.W. Church of Christ. Burial will follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens. The Baggerley-South Funeral Home in Oklahoma City is in charge of arrangements.

Barbara Ann Rocksvold, 59, of Harlingen, Texas died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.      The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. today, Monday, Jan. 20, at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Harlingen, with the Rev. Walter Ray "Waddy" Birch, 77, of Burlington, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, in his home.      The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 17 at the First Baptist Church in Burlington, with the Rev. Tyrone Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the church. Robert A. "Peanuts" Menke, 72, of Pilot Grove, died at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003 at his home.      The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22 at the St. James Catholic Church in St. Paul, with the Rev. Dennis Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the St. James Catholic Church, with a Christian vigil service at 7 p.m. Memorials have been established to the St.

James Henry Frey, 70, of Niota, Ill., died at 5:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2003 at his home.      The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22 at the SS Peter and Paul Church in Nauvoo, with the Rev. Greg Ketcham officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison. The body has been cremated and there will be no visitation. Jewell G. Sherwood, 92, of Sun City West, Ariz., formerly of Danville, died at Sunwest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sun City West, Ariz., on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003.      Services will be held locally at a later date. Lois Irene Benda, 91, Washington, died Sunday evening, Jan. 19, 2003, at the M.L.
