Irene Helen Moore, 80, of Sandia, Texas, died Monday, March 18, 2002, in a Texas hospital.      Mrs. Moore was born May 3, 1921, in Angus, to Samuel Alfred and Matilda Mae (Shema) Seiders. She married John Leonard Moore, July 26, 1941. The couple spent their early marriage years in Perry.

Joyce Elaine Wellington, 61, of Mt. Pleasant, died at 6 a.m. on Monday, March 18, 2002, at her residence.      The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 at the Forest Home Cemetery Chapel in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. Henry Ledbetter, retired pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. on Friday, March 22 and from 9 a.m. to noon on

Alan Dean Herrick, 43, of Biloxi, Miss., died on Monday, March 18, 2002, at Askew Landing Camp Grounds in Edwards, Miss., of heart failure.      The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 22, at Canton City Cemetery in Canton, Miss., with the Rev. Donnie Grantham officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, and from 10 to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 22, both at Canton Funeral

Claude Elmer Young, 83, of New London, died on Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.      The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 at the Elliott Chapel in New London with the Rev. Matt Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Long Creek Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be from noon to 8:30 p.m. with the family present from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 22

Ronald "Punch" Eugene Booth, 66, of Yoder, Colo., and formerly of Fairfield, died on Sunday, March 17, 2002, at his home.      He was cremated and a memorial service may be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to the local Hospice.

COLUMBUS JUNCTION - Adelaide O. Shearer, 85 of Columbus Junction died Friday, March 15, 2002, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.      Graveside services were held this morning in Columbus City Cemetery in Columbus City. Memorial services were held today at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction, with the Rev. Ron Whitlatch officiating. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home.

Howard Paul Goodwin, 85, of Wayland, died on Monday, March 18, 2002, at Parkview Home in Wayland after a short illness.      The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20 at the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Gene Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery at Washington. Visitation will begin at noon on Tuesday, March 19 with family present from 7 to 8:30

BRIGHTON - Opal Emma Loeffler, 86, of Wayland, and formerly of Brighton, died Monday, March 18, 2002, at Parkview Home in Wayland.      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, at Hope Lutheran Church in Germanville, with the Rev. Claire Elizabeth Reis, the daughter of Timothy T. and Kelley Sue (Berst) Reis, was stillborn Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa.      Graveside memorial services were held Friday, March 15, at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, with the Rev. Robert Busher officiating. Memorials may be made to the National Ataxia Foundation.

Doris M.
