Eldon Buskirk, 85, of Mt. Pleasant, and formerly of West Point, died on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, at the Great River Hospice House, in West Burlington.Funeral services are pending at the Schmitz Funeral Home, in West Point.

Walter G. Friese, 52, of St. Paul, Minn., and formerly of Washington, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001.      Funeral services were held in St. Paul, Friday, Oct. 5.      Mr. Friese graduated from Washington High School and Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minn.

KALONA - Ruth M. Ulch, 94, of Kalona, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, at Pleasantview Home in Kalona, following a lengthy illness.      The body was cremated. A memorial service was held Sunday at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona, with the Rev. David L. Yoder and the Rev. Rolland Smith officiating. Inurnment was in Ridgewood Cemetery. Lorena M. Gipple, 85, of Winfield, died on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at Sunrise Terrace Care Center.      There will be no visitation or funeral service. According to her wishes, her body has been deeded to the University of Iowa Medical College. Arrangements are by Honts Funeral Home in Winfield.
