Gary Eugene Doak, 60, of Oak Hills, Calif., formerly of Westminster, Colo., Mt. Pleasant, and Washington, died Sept. 14, 2001, in San Diego, Calif. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 20, at Highland Mortuary in Thornton, Colo. The body has been cremated. Local banks collect donations for victims
Several local banks, including Firstar and Henry County Bank, are collecting donations to assist the victims of the New York and Washington terrorist bombings. Firstar, part of the US Bancorp national banking chain, has a number of locations in southeast Iowa, including Mt. Pleasant. Henry County Bank has locations in Mt. Church attendance increases after attack
Area churches surveyed saw increased attendance Sunday as people sought guidance in dealing with the fear and pain from last week?s terrorist attack. Farm Bureau questions county funding
