Marjorie Hulmes, 90, of Mt. Pleasant, died at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2001, at Mapleleaf Healthcare Center. Funeral arrangements are pending at Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.

Dorothy Marie Vorhies, 86, of Lockridge, died at 6:25 p.m., Saturday, April 7, 2001, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant, where she had been a resident since February.      The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 11 at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield with Diane Brokken officiating. Burial will be in the Hope Lutheran Cemetery near Germanville. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m.

Kenneth W. Ricketts, 82, of New London, formerly of Wapello and Oakville, died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at New London Nursing and Rehab Center in New London.      There will be no formal service. The body has been cremated. A memorial has been established and may be sent to Phyllis Johnson, 105 Burlington St., New London or Elliott Chapel of New London. The chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Edith Springer, 80, of Mt. Pleasant, died at 7:15 p.m., April 4, 2001, at Maple Leaf Health Care Center.      The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at the Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the Rev. Phil Griffith of Faith Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, April 6, at the funeral home.

Nydia Amos of Mt. Pleasant died at 2:52 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2001, at Henry County Health Center. Funeral arrangements are pending at Weir Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.

Anna ?Mae? Messer, 72, of Fairfield, died at 4:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.      The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 9, at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with the Rev. Ed Parker officiating. Burial will be in the White Oak Cemetery near Rome. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 8, at the funeral home with the family present from

KEOTA - Alma Rose Weber, 82, of Keota, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at University Hospitals in Iowa City, following a sudden illness.A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, with the Rev. Timothy Regan officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Keota. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Powell Funeral Home

Albert E. Barrett, 79, of Mt. Pleasant, died at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield.      The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at Beatty Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant with military rites conducted by the 105th Troop Command. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April

Charles Espy, 90, of Palm Harbor, Fla., died on Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at Mease Hospital in Dunedin, Fla.      The funeral service was March 26 at Faith Lutheran Church in Dunedin, with the Rev. H.D. Mitchell officiating. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church in Dunedin or to Iowa Wesleyan College for the Espy Scholarship in Mt. Pleasant. Arrangements were by Curlew Hills Funeral Home in Palm Harbor.
