Charles "Moose" Griffin, 73, of Washington, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, at the V.A. Hospital in Des Moines.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Mark Young officiating. Burial with full military rites will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Wayne Carpenter, 82, of Lone Tree, died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000, at his home.      Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, at the Sorden-Lewis Funeral Home in Lone Tree, with the Rev.
