Alvin David Miller, 75, of Mt. Pleasant died Friday, July 9, 1999, at Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant following a brief illness.The funeral service was at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 12, at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman with the Rev. Robert M. Bell officiating. Burial was in Wellman Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Wellman Senior Center and the Wellman Volunteer Fire Department.

Velma Lucille Taylor, 73, of Rome died at 2:50 a.m. Monday, July 12, 1999, at Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 16, at Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. Stephen Prickett officiating. The body will be cremated after the service. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, at the funeral home with family present from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday.
