Relay for Life team captains prepare for event
Jefferson County Relay for Life team captains met Tuesday at the Jefferson County Health Center to discuss plans for the May 14 relay.Team captains were asked to turn in team registration forms and T-shirt sizes by Thursday to Kortney Heald or Jean Keller in order to guarantee shirts for their members. Deer crash on Hwy 218 Sunday
The Henry County Sheriff's Office responded to a car vs. deer crash in the 2100 grid of Hwy 218 Sunday, Sept. 9, at approximately 7:17 p.m.After an investigation, it was determined that Jason Hawk, of Donnellson, was traveling south on Hwy 218 and struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported.Damage was estimated over $1,500 and a State Crash Report was completed.

DUI arrest Friday
A vehicle drove into a ditch near the intersection of 210th Street and Iowa Avenue north of Mt. Pleasant on Friday, Sept. 7. Advertising artifact being restored in MP by Arts IMPACT
The Mt. Pleasant Arts IMPACT will be restoring an outdoor advertising artifact on the east wall of the Taft-Wiley building.The artifact can be seen from the east end of the parking lot in front of The REC Center.
