A car-deer accident Sept. 22 in the 2500 grid of Franklin Avenue resulted in $6,000 damage to the vehicle.The Henry County Sheriff's Office reported that a 2016 Chevrolet, operated by Afton Engberg of Mt. Pleasant was traveling south on Franklin Avenue where the vehicle struck a deer in the roadway.No injuries were reported.

Autumn may have begun on Friday, Sept. 22, but for many in Henry County Wednesday morning's sunrise not only filled the sky with fall-like colors, but may have been the first morning that felt fall-like.

Main Street Mt. Pleasant sponsored its first ?Farm to Table? dinner Saturday night in Central Park. Seating was limited to 50 guests. The event offered locally grown and produced food and beverages. A band comprised of local musicians provided dinner-time music. Although the mercury was in the high 80s, shade and a cool breeze made for a good evening to dine outside.
