Car vs. deer accident causes $2,500 in damage
?Tis the season ? the season for vehicle vs. deer accidents.Henry County Sheriff?s Office responded to a car-deer accident on Monday, Nov. 9, south of the intersection of Kentucky Ave. and Highway 27.A 2011 Dodge, owned and operated by Amy Maine, of Mt. Union, was southbound on Highway 27 when she struck a deer that entered the roadway.Damage to the Maine vehicle was estimated at $2,500.

Mt. Pleasant leaf collection scheduled
The City of Mt. Pleasant?s free leaf collection is scheduled for the week of Nov. 16.All leaves must be bagged and placed at the curb on your designated trash day. The city requests the bags of trash be separate from bags of leaves.The collection is open to all residents. If a resident?s trash is picked up by a service other than the City, the resident should call City Hall at 319-385-1470.

Judge Cynthia Danielson to retire first of the year
