Pekin buzzer-beaters break WACO in 3 OT?s
PACKWOOD ? While some sports are games of inches, Tuesday night was a game of seconds.Pekin beat the buzzer from behind the arc to tie the game at the end of regulation, at the end of the first overtime, and after a second extra period couldn?t settle things, the Panthers finally distanced themselves from WACO in the third.A sluggish start to the evening turned into a thrilling ending and when the dust settled

Retail gasoline prices keep falling
Average retail gasoline prices in Iowa have fallen 7.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.85 a gallon Nov. 23, according to GasBuddy?s daily survey of 2,036 gas outlets in Iowa. Keeping the road warm
?Blankets? are placed in the road bed remaining to be paved yet this year on North Iris Avenue. Construction crews are hoping for a few days of moderate temperatures so the street can be paved. The remainder of the project (south from the railroad tracks to Washington Street) will be done next spring. Wet summer weather prevented the project from being finished this year.
