End of career is nearing
Harlan Elementary School second-grade teachers Marge Roth and Faye Schultz, pictured with part of her class in the bottom photo, are winding down their teaching careers this week. Logjam
Heavy rain + logjam = problems. And that is what Henry County is currently experiencing at Oakland Mills. Open house set for Dr. John Roederer
Retiring Mt. Pleasant Superintendent of Schools Dr. John Roederer will be feted at an open house tomorrow (Friday) from 3-6 p.m. in the community room at the Heatilator Arts and Civic Center (second floor of the building).Roederer is retiring, effective June 30, after spending his final 20 years in education as the superintendent of the Mt. Pleasant Community School District.

Campgrounds now open
The South Shore campground at Oakland Mills and Water Works Park are now open, according to the Henry County Conservation Department.Sixteen camping sites are available at South Shore.Campground hosts are in place at both campgrounds to assist with registration and camping needs.
