Tuesday rain causes smallest sanitary sewer overflow yet in 2010
Approximately 0.71 inches of rain fell on Fairfield Tuesday resulted in about 5,672 gallons of sanitary sewer overflows to Crow Creek and Cedar Creek.According to wastewater treatment plant supervisor Loran Franklin, the largest overflow was 5,506 gallons at a manhole near Forest Park. Johnson sews blankets for Ronald McDonald House
From yards of unwanted fabric came 90 blankets, a gift for children at Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City.In December, Bee Johnson received a call from Willis Biddle asking if she wanted more fabric as he wanted to get rid of the many yards his deceased wife had accumulated. H1N1 flu vaccine now available to everyone

Fairfield wins state grant for energy efficiency
