Quilts for all Seasons program
On Sunday, June 3, at 1:30 p.m., Jo Crabb, a Mt. Pleasant quilter, will return to the Dover Museum in New London, for a free trunk showing of ?Quilts for all Seasons.? These works of art vary from small wall hangings to bed-sized quilts. Each will add color and interest to the home.

Deans list recipient
PEORIA - Caitln R. DePriest has received recognition on the Dean's List for the spring semester at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. To be eligible for the Dean's List a student must achieve a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the semester on a 4.0 scale.

Family aquatic center to open June 1
The Mt. Pleasant family aquatic center will be open Memorial Day from 1-7 p.m. then closed until school is out. The season will open on Friday, June 1, from 1-7 p.m.

Girl Scout program meeting June 12

MPCHS Interact Club reads to Kindergarten class
On Thursday, May 10, MPCHS Interact student Nathaniel Zaragoza read a Dr. Seuss book to Ms. Knapp's kindergarten class at Lincoln Elementary School. Each year the MPCHS Interact Club donates a Dr. Seuss book to every Mt. Pleasant Community School Kindergarten student. The MPCHS Interact club is sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Mt. Pleasant.

MPCHS student receives scholarship
On Friday, May 18, Elizabeth Larson, a 2018 graduate of Mt. Pleasant Community High School, was presented with a $1,000 scholarship from Mediacom Communications.This scholarship is part of the company's World Class Scholarship Program. Swedesburg sees visitors
On Saturday, May 12, the Swedesburg Museum was visited by a tour group of 17 people from several areas of Sweden. The group included two teachers and 15 adult students from the Folk School of Jämshog in Blekinge. Folk schools in Sweden are for adults who wish to continue their learning experience. After touring the museum and lunch, the group entertained the volunteers with some Swedish songs.
