Salem starts park clean up project
Less than two days after confirmation of the contract, tree removal begain in the Salem Town Park. With the town matching a grant from Henry County Enrichment Foundation, nine trees infected with ash bore were removed on Thursday, May 3.

On Wednesday, May 2, 32 members of the Henry County Retired School Personnel visited the Mason House Inn in Bentonsport.After a delicious Amish meal at the Bontrager farm, the business meeting was held.The next meeting will be Wednesday, July 11, at the Jumbo Buffet. The Lutheran Women's Missionary League of Faith Lutheran Church attended their annual Spring Rally on April 28, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Ft. Madison. WACO students 'walk out'
On Wednesday, May 2, a group of students gathered outside WACO High School in a fifteen minute walk out to take a stand for their second amendment rights. WACO High School trap team members were among those who walked out. The News was not permitted to speak with students. Superintendent Jeff Dicks has no comment at this time.
