Iowa Wesleyan University 2018 commencement May 5
On May 5, at 1:30 p.m., Iowa Wesleyan University will present its May Commencement in Howe Student Activity Center in Ruble Arena. The University Baccalaureate will also be held earlier in the day at 10:30 a.m. in University Chapel.On Friday, May 4, the Senior Art Exhibit will be on display in the P.E.O. Outdoor cooking class at Oakland Mills
Henry County Conservation will host its annual outdoor cooking class on May 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the Oakland Mills Nature Center. The event will include a sampling of all dishes prepared. The program and will take at least two hours.There is a fee for the event. Fees and preregistration are due via mycountyparks.com on or before May 11. Medical missionary to speak at Dover Museum
On Sunday, May 6, at 1:30 p.m. at the Dover Museum, Arlo Walljasper will be welcomed home from Zahle, Lebanon. He has been a part of a 17-person medical mission team from this area. This group of volunteers treated refugees from Syria who live in three 'tent cities' numbering 1,000 families each with 7-8 people per family. Walljasper will offer insight on his mission trip. This is a free program.

State Historical Society of Iowa?s mobile museum begins second year

Writing for Earth Day
On Thursday, April 26, Mt. Pleasant Middle school students visited Van Allen Elementary to help students with an Earth day project. Middle school students were dismissed early on Thursday because of testing. They then walked to the elementary school to volunteer with younger students.
