Alliant Energy Foundation donates $1,000 to Mt. Pleasant Fire Department
The Alliant Energy Foundation donated $1,000 to the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department for safety equipment on Monday, Oct. 9, in honor of National Fire Prevention Week.The fire department will be holding an open house on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at the fire department at S. Jackson St. to promote fire safety. This kid friendly event will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Annual night hike features Alice?s Wonderland
Oakland Mills Nature Center's annual night hike will take place Monday, Oct. 23, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.This year's theme is Alice's Wonderland, where hikers can meet Alice, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, Caterpillar and even the Queen of Hearts.
