Pamela Williams

Pamela Kay Williams was born in Ankeny, IA on Aug. 14, 1956. She graduated from Ankeny High school in 1974, her classmates remember her always being happy, and without fail had a smile on her face. She then went on to the University of Iowa to get her degree in early childhood development. She loved children and working with them.
Pam was a kind soul. She had a smile ready for all, and conversation too. The Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy she had from birth was a burden she acted like she didn’t have. Always interested in others and their lives, she lived through their stories. Pam was an avid reader and found solace in her books, reading them over and over again.
Pam came to Washington in 2018 to have the help of her cousin Lorraine when she needed additional assistance. She lived a happy life here where the community was welcoming.
Pam became a Catholic late in life, following her mother’s faith. She attended mass at St. James and enjoyed Father Bernie’s sermons.
She was preceded in death by her mother Delores and father Kenneth, sister Janelle Halverson and brother Murray Williams.
Pam’s body was donated to the University of Iowa with her hopes that they might find something that could help others with her disease. The family will gather later to honor her life.
