Salem
Patricia Sue Harper, 69, of Salem, died Sunday, June 27, 2021, at her home in Salem.
She was born Jan. 10, 1952, in Burlington, the daughter of Boyd Gene and Bessie Marie Gibson Savage. She married Tony Broeker and they divorced. She later married Carl Harper on Oct. 16, 1982. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1998. She was a Burlington High School graduate and a member of Salem Friends Church
Pat was a machine operator for many years at Metromail, Alaniz and Innovaire. She was an avid Chicago Bears fan and a Hawkeye fan who enjoyed stamping cards, needlepoint and adopting stray cats.
Pat is survived by her son, Tony V. Broeker II (Nickey) of Burlington; and a daughter, Kathryn D. Broeker of Mineral Point, Wis.; four grandchildren, Blake, Kelsay, Seth and Preston; and four great-grandchildren, Gabe, Juniper, Rylea and Abigail; siblings, Darold Savage of Camden, Tenn., Rose Cluney of Mount Pleasant, Robert Glick of Burlington, Rick Glick of Fort Dodge and Roger Glick of Baltimore, Md.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl; and stepfather, James Glick
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 2, at Elliott Chapel, New London. Major Roger Glick will preside. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery, New London. Visitation with family present will be one hour before the service. Memorials have been established to Paws in Fort Madison or the Salvation Army.
