Patricia Havel, age 87, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Atrium Village in Hills, Iowa, after failing in health for the past two years.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2023, at St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Hai Dinh officiating. Calling hours will begin 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery at a later date. Memorials have been established for Atrium Village in Hills, Iowa. Pat was born June 6, 1936, near Harper, Iowa, the daughter of Stephen and Nina (Lawson) Jaeger. She graduated from St. Elizabeth’s Catholic School in Harper, Iowa. Pat was united in marriage to Robert N. Havel on July 19, 1969, in Harper, Iowa.

Pat lived most of her life in Washington County. She worked at the Fairfield National Bank and the Washington State Bank for a total of about 30 years. Every Saturday she bought livestock at the Keosauqua sale barn. She also hauled livestock in a straight truck, often to Bob Evans in Illinois. When they weren’t working, she and Bob enjoyed hunting rabbits and pheasants or playing card games such as Pinochle with family and friends.

Pat was a member of St. James Catholic Church and was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeye football, basketball, baseball and softball teams. She was also a Chicago Cubs fan. She liked any homemade dessert and a cold beer.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Havel of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Susan Golden and husband Mike of Ainsworth, Iowa; granddaughter, Allison Golden of Ainsworth, Iowa; sister-in-law, Lee Jaeger of Harper, Iowa; and brother-in-law, LeRoy Havel of Washington, Iowa.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Mary Finders and husband Keith, Delores Paetzold and her husband Kenneth, and Paul Jaeger; and sister-in-law, Colleen Havel.
