Patricia J. Meeks, 81, of Kewanee, Ill., died Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 24, 1938, in Kewanee, the daughter of Fritz and Geneva (Blake) Bridgewater. Patricia attended

Wethersfield High School

and graduated with the Class of 1956. She married Melvin Fuhrman and later married James Meeks at the Wheels Away Roller Rink, Kewanee; he survives.

Patricia is also survived by her daughter, Becky (Denny) Kubiak, Kewanee; son, Kevin Fuhrman, California; three stepchildren, Kyle Meeks, Iowa City, IA, Leslie (Brian) Orr, Rachel Kinne, both of Muscatine, IA. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Jaden Meeks and Addison Loos; and numerous half-brothers and half-sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Patricia worked in the activities department at area nursing homes. She was an artist and sold many paintings over the years. Patricia enjoyed animals, roller skating, and was a huge Elvis fan. Most of all, she was known for being kind hearted and her love for others. Patricia belonged to the former Kewanee Art League and continued to paint up to a couple weeks ago.

Private Graveside Services will be Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at Wethersfield Cemetery. Pastor Kevin Drane will officiate.
