Patricia Jean “Pat” Mangold, age 93, of Washington, Iowa, died Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Valley View Village in Des Moines, Iowa.

Private family services will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington at a later date. Memorials have been established for the United Methodist Church/Youth Programs or Hospice of Washington County. Online condolences may be sent for Pat’s family at www.jonesfh.com.

Pat was born December 7, 1929, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of H. Homer and Helen (Smith) Hotle. She graduated from West Chester High School and attended Washington Junior College and the University of Iowa. Pat was united in marriage to Lee Mangold on May 21, 1950, in Washington, Iowa.

Pat and Lee lived on a farm north of West Chester for 40 years. She worked for the Mid Prairie School District for 25 years and later worked as an office assistant at Northwestern Mutual until her retirement. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Washington.

She is survived by her son, Greg Mangold and wife Rebecca of Gold Canyon, Arizona; daughter, Mindi Gascho and husband David of Ankeny, Iowa; six grandchildren: Blythe (Jeff) Roberts, Patrick (Molly) Sawhill, Matthew (Amy) Sawhill, Michael (Brianna) Mangold, Morgan Gascho, and Ethan (Kristin) Gascho; eight great-grandchildren: Madison Sturms, Kennedy Roberts, Logan Sawhill, Lauren Sawhill, Mia Sawhill, Brian Mangold, Lucy Mangold, and Harper Gascho; and one great-great-grandchild, Kenny Sturms.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lee in 1992, and one brother, John Hotle.
