Patricia M. Bass

COLUMBUS JUNCTION ? Patricia Marie Bass, 68, of Conesville, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, in Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

A celebration of life service will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 22, at the Conesville Community Center. A general memorial fund has been established. The Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bass was born Oct. 17, 1948, in Garden Grove, the daughter of Carl and Velma (Dinsemore) Holmes.

She was a home health care aide at Premier. She loved working outside and spending time with her family and friends. She always wanted to make everyone happy and enjoyed making people laugh.

Surviving are five children, James Holmes and wife Elizabeth of Fort Worth, Texas, David Holmes and wife Janie of Conesville, Tammi Castillo and husband Tony of Columbus Junction, Frankie Bass or Gorin, Missouri, and Kimberly Bass of Gorin, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and seven siblings, Donna Williams of Marion, Larry Holmes and wife Ruby of Osceola, JoAnn Buckman of Nichols, Jimmy Holmes and wife Sherry of Coweta, Oklahoma, Bessie McCulley and husband Mike of Conesville, Richard Holmes of Moscow, and Kathy Smith of Wayland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Velma Holmes; one brother, Mike Holmes; and grandparents, Carl Lloyd, and Velma Dinsemore.
