Patricia Ann "Pat" Ludwig, 81, of Hillsboro, formerly of Ottumwa, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020, at Savannah Heights in Mount Pleasant.

Pat was born on May 23, 1939, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Orville Porter and Clarabelle Ann (Deitch) Petrie. She graduated from Ottumwa High School and went on to take nursing classes. Pat was united in marriage to William F. Ludwig Jr. on Sept. 28, 1957, in Ottumwa. He preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 2015.

Pat worked for M.H.I of Mount Pleasant for several years and went on to work for Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mount Pleasant until she retired in 2010. She loved working with ceramics and owned B & P Ceramic Shop in Hillsboro, where she lived for over 55 years. Pat enjoyed camping, gardening and cooking, baking and spending time on her computer looking at family photos. She was a loving, caring lady and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Pat is survived by her children, Paula Hamlin of Farmington, Iowa, Debbie Twiss of Mount Pleasant, Tammy Pichardo of Lone Tree, Iowa, and Greg Ludwig of Grundy Center, Iowa, 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Joleen Stevenson of Phoenix, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one great-grandson and two brothers, Robert Petrie and Richard Petrie.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, at Hillsboro Cemetery in Hillsboro, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to Every Step Hospice in her memory.
