Patricia Sinn
Patricia Ann (Timmins) Sinn, 53, of Washington, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016.
A funeral service was held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 26, at the United Methodist Church in Washington with the Rev. Ben Blanchard officiating. Burial was at Cottonwood Cemetery in Wayland. Memorials have been established for Hospice of Washington County and for Ovarian Cancer Research at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Mrs. Sinn was born Feb. 27, 1962, in Washington, the daughter of Eleanor Sanders and Howard Timmins. She married Gregory Sinn on July 2, 1983, in Nashua.
She cherished and took seriously her role as a big sister to three younger siblings. She graduated from Washington High School in 1980, and from AIB College of Business in Des Moines. After graduation, she began a 34-year devoted career as a public servant in the Washington County Attorney?s office. She was the office manager, serving many attorneys. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Washington and of P.E.O. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking and canning. She was passionate about educating medical students on the importance of early detection and further funding of ovarian cancer research. She was devoted to her family and was a caretaker to all of them. Her biggest passion in life was Alexandria and Bryce, and following and supporting their sporting events. She was known as one of the world?s truly authentic people.
Surviving are her loving husband, Greg Sinn of Washington; two children, Alexandria Sinn of Cedar Rapids, and Bryce Sinn of Washington; one brother, Kevin Timmins and wife Karen of Iowa City; two sisters, Rebecca Timmins Sisler and husband Mike of Crystal Lake, Illinois, and Marty Timmins Powers of Dysart; many nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Kelly Jo Hartzler, and Kerri Jo Feddersen, of Wayland; one brother-in-law, Kurt Sinn and wife Tammy of Wayland; her mother-in-law, Karen Sinn of Wayland; and her father, Howard Timmins of Sarasota, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Eleanor Sanders Timmins; her maternal grandparents, Keith and Evelyn Sanders; and her paternal grandparents, Harold and Jean Timmins.
