Paul Maurice Crafton, 73, of King Trailer Court Lot #5, Mt. Pleasant died at 9:32 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City.
The graveside service was at 11 a.m. today at Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham with the Rev. Reva Rimmer officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery. No family visitation was planned. A memorial fund has been established.
Mr. Crafton was born July 21, 1926, in Birmingham, the son of Samuel Walter and Bertha Pickeral Crafton. He was married to Sharen Crawford. He lived in the Mt. Pleasant area for the last two years. He worked for American Chain and Cable in Fairfield. He was a WWII army veteran.
Survivors include his wife of Mt. Pleasant; three daughters, Paula K. Crafton of Indianapolis, Ind., Karlene L. Kelher of Sioux City, and Alice Simons of St. James, Minn.; three brothers, Roy Crafton of La Claire, Kenneth Crafton of Cedar Falls, and Leonard Crafton of Birmingham; five sisters, Marjorie Jarmes of Fairfield, Mildred Brown of Burlington, Jo'an Jones of Wever, Marilyn Rettig of Wever, and Idora Crafton of Keosauqua. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Raymond.
