Pauline Marie Brown, age 87, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington.
Celebration of life services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Chaplain Andrew Zuehlke officiating. The family will be present to receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 Tuesday morning at the funeral Home. Private family interment will be held at a later date. Pauline was born September 20 1936, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Louise (Whisler) Kolosick. She graduated from Washington High School in 1953. Pauline was united in marriage to Clarence J. Brown on November 21, 1953, in Hastings, Nebraska.
Pauline worked as a bookkeeper for Brown’s Heating and Cooling for 32 years until her retirement in 1997. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Y Wives, RAGBRAI Riders and was a 50 year member of the Washington Golf and Country Club. Pauline was a Kewash Nature Trail Volunteer and Donator. She and Clarence enjoyed wintering in Ft. Myers and Zephyrhills, Florida, from 1994 until 2019.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Clarence of Washington, Iowa; two daughters, Jody (John) Tolander of Swedesburg, Iowa; and Tracy Fagen of Keota, Iowa; four grandchildren: Shaun Wagler of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; Brooke (Scott) Hodge of Cartersville, Georgia; Jamie (Phil) Harris of Washington, Iowa; and Jeff (Lydia) Fagen of Ankeny, Iowa; ten great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Myrtle Whistler and her husband Fred , who helped raise Pauline and her siblings; her parents, Paul and Louise Kolosick; three sisters, Ruth Lutzow, Delores Call, and Patricia Young; and one brother, Paul Kolosick II.
