Pauline R. Snider

      KALONA - Pauline R. Snider, 83, of Kalona, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, in Mercy Hospital, Iowa City following a short illness.

      Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, in the Sharon Center United Church in Kalona with the Rev. Doug Cue officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Memorials may be made to the Kalona First Responders or Sharon Center United Methodist Church.

      Mrs. Snider was born Oct. 24, 1924, the daughter of Lewis and Ida (Miller) Gingerich. She married Donald Snider on Feb. 18, 1951.

      She was educated at Kalona High School. She was a bank teller and dairy-farmed. She was a member of the Sharon Center United Methodist Church and Rose of Sharon United Methodist Women.

      Surviving are a sister, Luella Linebaugh of Dayton, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Yoder of Kalona; and several nieces and nephews.

      She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Aug. 17, 2007; sisters, Evelyn Baumgartner, Viola Swartzendruber, and Gertrude Bender; and brother, Wilson Gingerich.
