WELLMAN ? Pearl LaVonne Van Voltenburg, 83, of Kinross, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, in the English Valley Care Center in North English.
Celebration of life service will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. Burial will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Forest Hill Cemetery in Anamosa. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established for the Kinross Christian Church.
Mrs. Van Voltenburg was born Feb. 9, 1932, in Monticello, the daughter of Aubrey and Eunice (Grover) Appleby. She married Ralph Leonard Van Voltenburg on Nov. 29, 1950.
She graduated from Monticello Public High School in 1950. She worked for Country Lane for 10 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Kinross Christian Church, Red Hats, and Ladies Group at Kinross Church. She enjoyed gardening.
Surviving are four children, Jerry Van Voltenburg of Kinross, Ronald Van Voltenburg and wife Sharon of Grinnell, Sue Proenneke of Stockport, and Diana Toomer of South English; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Joyce Bemrose of Monticello.
She was preceded in death by hr husband, in 1995; her parents; one grandson; and one sister, Audrey Lloyd.
