Peggy J. Johnson, 80, of Winfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 22, 2021, at Donnellson Health Center in Donnellson, Iowa,

of Alzheimer's.

Peggy was born in North English, Iowa the daughter of Raymond and Frances (Martin) Moyer. She married Don J. Johnson on Dec. 1, 1957, in West Chester, Iowa. She attended school in Washington and graduated from Washington High School in 1957. She was a housewife and stay-at-home mom and provided in-home daycare for over 30 years. She loved spending time with family, gardening and canning, fishing, crocheting, listening to music and Christmas. She was also an amazing cook and baker.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years; sons, Pat of Muscatine and Dennis of Cedar Rapids; and daughters, Jeanne (Kevin) Mullen of Winfield and Jackie (Garry) Idle of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Angie (John) Mathis of Muscatine, Brandi Mullen of Fort Madison, Kelsey (Tim) Bolin of Mount Pleasant, Travis (Courtney) Mullen of Winfield and Brooke Hand of Denver, Colo.; and seven great-grandchildren, John III, Dylan and Kaylynn Mathis, Lynnely Hull, Emery and Eden Bolin and Zachary Mullen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Larry (in infancy) and Jim Moyer; and daughter-in-law, Kathy (Pat) Johnson.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there is no visitation or funeral service planned. There will be a private family graveside service held at a later date. Any memorials will be directed to the Donnellson Health Center.
