Perry M. Bontrager

      KALONA - Perry M. Bontrager, 83, of Kalona, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, in the University of Iowa Health care Center in Iowa City after a sudden illness.

      Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28 in the Upper Deer Creek Church in rural Kalona with the Rev. Elmer Miller officiating. A private family burial will be conducted prior to the memorial service in the East Union Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona, where the family will be present from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Crooked Creek Christian Camp.

      Mr. Bontrager was born Feb. 5, 1925 in Fairbank, the son of Menno JS and Fannie (Yoder) Bontrager. He married Mabel Miller on Jan. 26, 1947.
