Phyllis Arlene Eisele, age 86, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the Halcyon House in Washington.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2024, at the United Church of Crawfordsville with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Calling hours will begin 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 8th at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Crawfordsville Cemetery. Phyllis was born May 24, 1938, in Crawfordsville, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence Lyle and Helen Marie (Clark) Lowe. She graduated from Crawfordsville High School and later graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant. Phyllis was united in marriage to Lee Eisele on June 1, 1961, in Crawfordsville.
Phyllis was a life resident of Washington County where she was an Elementary School Teacher for over 40 years. She taught at the Ainsworth Elementary School, WACO Elementary in Crawfordsville and spent most of her teaching career in the Washington Community School District.
She was a member of the United Church of Crawfordsville, Questers, Red Hat Society, Washington Cruisers Car Club and T.T.T. where she was in charge of the annual nut sales for many years. Phyllis was very active in the Crawfordsville Schools Alumni Association and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. She enjoyed attending her nieces and nephews many events.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Fabian of Coralville, Iowa; sister, Linda (Gene) Alvine of Loveland, Colorado; brother, Donald (Carla) Lowe of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; brother, Larry (Tammy) Lowe of Crawfordsville, Iowa; 10 nieces and nephews; 14 great nieces and great nephews and her best friend, Allaire George of Waterloo, Iowa.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Dude and Marie Lowe; and her husband, Lee.
