Phyllis Lyle

KEOTA ? Phyllis Lyle, 93, of Washington, formerly of Keota, died Friday, June 2, 2017, at her home.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 6, at the United Church of Faith in Keota with the Rev. Mike Druhl officiating. Burial will be at Keota Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m., Monday, June 5, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota. A memorial fund has been established for the United Church of Faith or the American Cancer Society. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lyle was born May 21, 1924, in Washington, the daughter of William and Armorelle (McCreedy) Miller. She married Richard Lyle on Aug. 1, 1946, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

She graduated from Keota High School in 1941. She and her husband farmed in the Keota area, where she was an active member of the United Church of Faith, Church Women United and the LGV Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving are six children, Lila Midtgaard and husband Arlyn of Hanlontown, Ron Lyle and wife Christy of Mesa, Arizona, Nancy Crites and husband Ed of Washington, Trent Lyle and wife Joy of Keota, Patty Treimer and husband Bill of Hartley, and Sarah Roegner and husband Matt of Beloit, Wisconsin; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Stoutner, and Mary Lou Miller, both of Keota; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; two sons, Kevin, in infancy, and David; and one granddaughter.
