Quentin Umphrey Houtz December 5, 1915 - July 5, 2003

      Quentin Umphrey Houtz, 83, Burlington, died Saturday, July 5, 2003 at his home.

      There will be a graveside funeral service in the Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery on Thursday, July 10 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Dean Graber officiating. Veterans Honor Guard of VFW Posts 10102 and 9162, American Legion Post 52 and the Hamilton Walters Marine Corps League will conduct military rites. A visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with a prayer service following, at Lunning Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday July 9. Friends may call after 8 a.m.

      Survivors include a daughter, Deanne Jackson of Burlington; three brothers, George "Junior" Houtz of Burlington, Thomas Houtz of Carman, Ill., John Houtz of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by both wives, his parents, two sons, one daughter, one brother and two sisters.
