R. Dean Luers

      R. Dean Luers, 72, of rural Brighton died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, on his farm from an accidental fall.

      A celebration of life service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa, with the Rev. Don Collings officiating. Interment will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery in rural Brighton.

      Visitation will begin at noon Saturday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 3-6 p.m.

      Memorials have been established to Give Kids the World in honor of Conrad Luers and Oak Ridge Cemetery Association.

      Mr. Luers was born Dec. 6, 1935, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Lloyd and Ruth Robinson Luers. He married Rosemary Smith Dec. 9, 1956, in Mount Pleasant.
