R. Kenneth 'Ken' Ward

      MOUNT VERNON - R. Kenneth "Ken" Ward, 78, of Mount Vernon, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, at his home following a lengthy illness.

      Funeral services with military rites will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at First Presbyterian Church in Mount Vernon, with the Rev. Emory Gillespie officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Springdale Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 27, at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices Mount Vernon Chapel. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home.

      Mr. Ward was born Oct. 4, 1925, the son of E. Everett and Helen Belle (Risk) Ward, in Washington. He married Dorothy Genung on June 14, 1952, in Vallejo, Calif.
