Rachel K. Gaul
Rachel K. Gaul, 50, of Burlington, died at 5:53 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at Great River Medical Center in Burlington.
The funeral was at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 6, at Lunning Chapel in Burlington with the Rev. Don Crawford officiating. Visitation was after 9 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5, at the funeral home with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Burial was in Spring Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established.
Mrs. Gaul was born June 4, 1951, in Athens, Ga., the daughter of Robert G. and Gladys Coulter Powell. She was married to Randall Gaul on March 9, 1971, in Beaufort, S.C. She was a 1969 graduate of Miller High School in Warner Robins, Ga. She attended Georgia Tech for one year and received her associate of arts degree from Southeastern Community College. She served in the Marines from 1970 to 1971. She worked at General Electric for 25 years. She was of the Protestant faith. She loved dogs, canoeing, camping and loved her good friend, Nancy.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Leslie S. Gaul of Burlington, and Eric A. Gaul of West Burlington; one grandchild; her mother; two brothers, Hank Powell and Robert Powell, both of Georgia; and four sisters, Jennett Kitchens, Kim Powell, Spring Duthridge and Jennifer Powell, all of Georgia. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
