Ralph E. McAllister

Ralph E. McAllister, 91, died Wednesday, Jan. 9 in Rochester, Minn.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, in Muscatine.

He was born March 29, 1916 in Winfield. On May 23, 1943, he married Elnora Illian.

A graduate of Winfield High School and Iowa State University, he joined the U.S. Navy and served as a pilot in the Southwest Pacific during World War II. He operated a large dairy farm, and was active in the Presbyterian Church and various boards.

He is survived by three sons, Vernon, Gary and Dennis McAllister; one daughter, Mary Kay Bradley; one brother, Leonard McAllister of Mt. Pleasant; and eight grandchildren.

His wife, brothers Warren, Marvin, Roy, and Raymond McAllister and sisters Edythe Metcalf and Lorna McAllister preceded him in death.
