COLUMBUS JUNCTION ? Ralph Timothy Cummings, 77, of Columbus Junction, died Saturday, April 30, 2011, in Colonial Manor Care Center in Columbus Junction.
Cremation was facilitated by the FCS Life Transition and Cremation Center of Muscatine and the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services of Columbus Junction. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 20, at the Porter Funeral Home in Kansas City, Kan., followed by memorial graveside services at 1 p.m. at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Kansas City, Kan., with the Rev. Rick Behrens officiating.
Mr. Cummings was born Dec. 7, 1933, in Bonner Springs, Kan., the son of Timothy B. Cummings and Louise T. (Treas) Cummings.
He lived in Kansas City, Kan., during his school years and attended Ward High School. He served in the Army and was stationed in Japan in 1957. Most of his life he lived in Homestead, Fla., where he was the owner of Cummings Tree Trimming Service. He had lived in Columbus Junction for the last 10 years.
Surviving are one son, Timothy B. Cummings of Kansas City, Kan.; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Catherine L. Schuetze and husband Roger of Columbus Junction; one niece; two nephews; two great-nieces; and one great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, in 1946; his mother, in 1997; one son, Ralph M. Cummings, in 1980; one granddaughter; and two nephews.
