Randall "Randy" Kent Pool, age 68, of Fairfield, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Mercy One Hospital in Des Moines.

A Celebration of Life of service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family and mailed to Roenna Pool, 908 West Grimes, Fairfield, IA 52556.

Randy was born April 4, 1952, in Jefferson County to Conrad Lane and Mada Irene (Giberson) Pool. He married Roenna Fern Vogt on October 3, 1969.

Randy lived all his life in the Fairfield, Iowa, area. He worked at Dexter, Harper Brush and 35 years as a truck driver. Randy was a mechanic and very creative. He had the ability to fix anything that needed it. He rebuilt older cars and took part in many drag races and stock car races. Randy was very interested in the Civil War and liked hunting. Most important was gathering with family and friends in the garage or helping people in need.

Randy will be deeply missed by his wife, Roenna; his two daughters, Gina (Austin) Miller and Gretchen (John Jr.) Rusk, both of Fairfield; four grandchildren, Cody (Katy) Pool, Cassy Shy, Teya Ebert and Rhiannon Ebert; and one great-grandson, Lucas Randall Pool.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad and Mada; one brother, Tom Pool; and one great-granddaughter, Kaelah Rayne.
