Randy William Popejoy

      PHOENIX, Ariz. - Randy William Popejoy, 60, of Phoenix died in Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Ariz. following a two-month battle with cancer.

      Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 in Pleasant Plain Friends Church in Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. Stan Bauer officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to Banner Health Foundation.

      Mr. Popejoy grew up in Pleasant Plain and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1965. He served in the Vietnam conflict. During his career he owned a tire business in Ames and an appliance store in Corydon, followed by a successful sales career in siding, motor homes, and residential water systems. He moved to Phoenix in 1986. He enjoyed the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball, golf, racing, restoring old cars and being with family and friends.
