Ray Garmoe April 21, 1921 - December 25, 2003

Ray Harlan Garmoe, 83, of Kirksville, Mo., died on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at his home.

      The funeral service was at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28 at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Kirksville. Burial was today in the Salem South Cemetery in Salem.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond P. and his wife Christine Garmoe of St. Louis, Mo., and Dennis Garmoe of Hillsboro; a stepson, Patrick Birdsell of Kirksville; three daughters, Betty Mae Garmoe of Mediapolis, April and her husband Bill Ruggles of Worthington, Mo., and Diane Garmoe of Burlington; a sister, Eleanor Garmoe of California; longtime friend and companion, Lila Seals of Kirksville; 11 grandchildren; four stepbrothers, Billy, Dwight and Jimmy Seals and Billy Shamblin; and two stepsisters, Shelly Groosclose and Patsy Shafer.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
