Raymond E. Whisler

      Raymond E. Whisler, 81, of Washington, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, following a brief illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at the United Presbyterian Church in Washington, with the Rev. Ron McMenamin officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 2 to 4, at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or United Presbyterian Church.

      Mr. Whisler was born Feb. 9, 1922, to Percy Frazey and Leona Estella (Meek) Whisler, in Washington. He married Mary Donaldson on Jan. 12, 1943, in Washington.
