Raymond Johnson
EDINA, Mn. ? Raymond Eugene Johnson, 70, of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, formerly of Fairfield, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 27, at Normandale Lutheran Church, 6100 Normandale Rd., Edina, Minnesota. Luncheon will follow the service. Memorials may be sent to Mayo Clinic (Cancer Research) in Rochester, Minnesota, or to KTIS Radio (Northwestern College) in St. Paul, Minnesota. Washburn McReavy Funeral Home in Edina, Minnesota, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Johnson attended Centerville College in Iowa. He was starting catcher with the Centerville Falcons, coached by Pat Daugherty. During the Vietnam War, he was secretary to Lt. Gen. Hal Moore. Following an honorable discharge, he graduated from Parsons College in Fairfield. He was the production control manager for MEGlobal for 25 years. His passion was baseball and golf. He was an ardent Hawkeye fan.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy; three sisters, Barbara Scarff and husband Michael, Terri Bell and husband Tom, and Karen Bremer and husband Greg; three children, Jolene Berg and husband Ryan, Michelle Fremling and husband Brad, and Ryan Johnson and wife Laura; several grandchildren; Mrs. Margery Johnson; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Floyd and Hazel Irene Johnson; and one niece.
