Raymond Paul Schultz, 82, of Crawfordsville, died Tuesday, April 8, at Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction, with prayers of the rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 11, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Columbus Junction, with the Rev. Paul Appel officiatng. Burial will be at Crawfordsville Cemetery, with full military rites by the Crawfordsville American Legion. Following the committal services, there will be a time of food and fellowship at the United Church of Crawfordsville.

He was born Oct. 23, 1925, in Germanville, the son of Louis and Minnie Janka Schultz. On April 9, 1946, he married Wanda Faye Messer in Pleasant Plain.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a farmer and operated heavy equipment as owner/operator of Schultz Construction, specializing in soil conservation and the construction of ponds and terraces. He was a member of the Crawfordsville American Legion and of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Columbus Junction. He served two terms as mayor of Crawfordsville and for 16 years as a member of the Crawfordsville City Council.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Ed Schultz and his wife Joyce of Muscatine and Darrell Schultz and his wife Faye of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Teresa Sommer and her husband Roger of Winfield and Kathy Richardson and her husband Stan of Washington; a brother, George Schultz and his wife Shirley of Fairfield; and 10 grandchildren.
His parents, brother Jesse and sisters Virginia Kurtz and Rita Sojka preceded him in death.
